smcFanControl

 

smcFanControl is a useful tool developed for Mac that enables us to administer our computer’s temperature at all times, giving us the possibility to have control over the coolers’ speed.

Constantly displaying our computer’s temperature on the menu bar, as well as the speed of the fan, with smcFanControl we can adjust them to prevent unnecessary overheating of the hardware.

Moreover, smcFanControl lets us predefine different profiles to be able to adapt with a single click, the way the fan operates, and counts with a security limit which doesn’t let the computer overheat over certain maximum limit.

 

In order to use smcFanControl you have to meet the following system requirements:

 

* Operative System: Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger) / Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard) / Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

 

Minimum System Requirements:

 

* Processor Power PC G4 / Memory RAM 512
